Where will I be for the London Olympics 2012? Would it be better or worse?

Idiot.

I think I've solved the Keynesian/Monetarist Debate [July 16, 2008 @ 4:46pm]
Keynes, the father of modern macroeconomics, once said that "In the long run, we (Keynesians) are all dead." Indeed, by the 1970s (40 years after Keynes analysed the Great Depression), all the Keynesians in the world have died, and "we are all Monetarists now".

OPEN YOUR DOORS, THAN SHWE [May 19, 2008 @ 2:33am]

O believe, you were not born
in vain!
You have not vainly lived
and suffered!

What was created,
that must pass away!
What passed away, must rise!
Cease to tremble!
Prepare yourself to live!

O suffering, you that pierce
all things,
from you I am wrested away!
O death, you that overcome all
things, now you are overcome!

With wings that I wrested
for myself,
in the fervent struggle of love,
I shall fly away to the light
which no eye pierced!

Die I shall, so as to live
Rise again, yes rise again you will,
my heart, in a trice!
Your pulsation
will carry you to God!

A stick, a stone, it's the end of the road. [January 19, 2008 @ 2:48am]

[ music | Waters of March - Jane Monheit ]

Once again being bored I have decided to post an entry.

Well it's been one gruesomely tiring week and I'm glad that the weekend is finally here. I really should stop taking afternoon naps during weekdays to keep myself awake in the morning, since taking naps always means sleeplessness at night. Hmm I wonder if anyone else suffers the same problem as I do?

Hmm went for Hungry in the evening, and it turned out to be pretty awesome. The actors were great and the various subplots in the play were quite interesting too.

After that was supper at Newton with the Backseat Boys (which, sadly, has been forced to disband under Barnard's orders), with lots of camwhoring along the way. As we were walking towards Newton, we saw a minor road accident occur. A car had bumped into another car in front of it, and then both drivers got out of their vehicles and started arguing. Meanwhile we were like Japanese tuorists wowing away at the commotion and camwhoring at the scene. Lol the photo we took was really funny, it was like a typical camwhore photo with the two cars in the background. Okay it's quite bad to poke fun at the accident like that even though it wasn't a serious accident, but still it's really quite hilarious. Some other passers-by also took out their camera phones and started taking pictures, which was quite silly too. Later again at Newton, we saw a group of international school students arguing loudly among themselves. Hmm some of them probably had a little too much to drink, since there were beer bottles all over their tables. One of the caucasians was really aggressive and was hurling loud verbal abuses at the other party. I think it had almost turned into a fist-fight, but eventually the other party walked away and  the aggromaniac and his friends left soon after too.

What was really funny was that later on some policemen arrived to investigate the incident. By that point, both parties had already left, so the policemen started questioning the stall-owners who were witnesses to the incident. Hahah we decided to be kind and helpful citizens and so we offered to tell the policemen about what we heard and saw. Chaiyi suggested that we should offer our help in the investigation so that we might possibly get a good testimonial from the police and all earn police scholarships next year LOL. Oh we even thought of informing them about the traffic accident we saw earlier on and showing them the photograph we took where it had occurred as "evidence" HAHA. Traffic police scholarship to study law LOL. Okay but too bad the policemen didn't take us very seriously since I think they got most of the answers they needed from the stall-owners anyway.

Hmm so that pretty much sums up an enjoyable evening. It's really quite fun to just do silly things and laugh at everything sometimes hahah.

First post! [December 22, 2007 @ 1:30am]

Thailand Trip (long entry)

Alright I shall skip the first day when we were at the airport since that was pretty dull and boring. Just lots of loading and unloading of instruments and luggages and a 3 hours long flight which was quite exhausting. Flying really tires me out for some reason. What's more the Bangkok airport terminal was surprisingly big, and so we had to walk a really long way from the arrival hall to the immigration check-points.

Dinner was interesting though since we were eating at some local eatery which looked quite shoddy lol. I think that was the only night when we got to try out some authentic local food. For the rest of the trip we didnt dare to try any food from the road-side stalls since the way they prepare the food is really quite EWW e.g. they put a large block of ice right on the road or beside the drain or something like that, and whenever someone orders a drink, they would just chip off some ice from this huge block and dump it into the cup.

Free time after dinner was when all the fun started! Okay somehow we managed to gather most of the guys in our room on the first night. Hahaha and so we started playing heart attack or something and created plenty of noise pollution. The hotel staff actually knocked on our door on one of the nights and asked us to quieten down. And sadly melvin lost the game, so he had to do a forfeit which was quite traumatising. I shall not mention what the forfeit was lest he (literally) flames me or backstabs me in some way LOL.  Yea he actually bought a switchknife from one of the streetstalls on the third day.

Okay second day was quite fulfilling. The students at Kasetsart University are really darn good. What impressed me most was how well they could blend their sound together. Intonation, balance, articulation, tone, expression blah blah blah.. all those little components that we struggle so hard to get right. Yet they did it so perfectly, and made it look easy too. Oh and one of the trombone guys owns an Edward trombone with two thayer valve extensions... I think his dad must really be some tycoon from Thailand. Hmm oil tycoon? nah Train(y) tycoon perhaps. He told me that he imported it from Singapore.. around S$5000++ if I'm not wrong. Oh and the guys there said that they knew Mr. Songyos too. Yeah its the cool guy with giant lips and sings in the bompimpim and yumbambam kinda way hahahah. Oh and their first and second horns blasted the horn countermelody from hymn to the infinite sky so loudly I couldn't get it out of my head for the rest of the day hahahah. Weixin on the other hand couldn't stop singing the trumpet melody for the whole day because the first trumpeter was sitting next to him and completely drowning his sound out.

Hmm after that was shopping! Okay actually nothing much to buy since the departmental store prices its items around the same as in SIngapore. The food is really cheap though. You could get a decent meal at a nice restaurant for as little as 100 baht, which is about S$5. Hmm should have gone to Swensen's, since according to the seniors Swensen's icecream in Thailand is really cheap and awesome. Yeah after that it was just free time and we invited people to party in our room again. Boo but some people went to set up their own LOL party and started stealing our people hahahaha. Hmm so for the rest of the trip we had our party, the LOL party, cindy's ??? party and various other parties consisting of 2 persons each, also called intimacy parties. Yeah so it was the same old fun again with texas poker and the like.

Third day was spent at Watsuthiwararam School or something. Okay they are kinda like this school full of crazy gay zealots who stay in school from morning till evening. They study everyday, go for cca everyday and do nothing else for every single day of their lives. oooh and I spied this trumpeter who really looked like a sissy. The way he picked up his trumpet was pretty disgusting.. he would bend down and poke his bum out as he picks up his trumpet, something like in the apollo fac dance when the girls have their solo dance part. Hmm still, they played really strong and nice, like a true marching band, so it was quite impressive. Then after that we played some games with them, which was pretty fun. And they like to call each other gay (in thailand they use the english word 'gay' too). They would randomly point at one guy and say "He's gay!" and everyone would start laughing like crazy. And the guy who got pointed out would point to another guy and they would start laughing all over again. Hmm so we were just watching them intially and pretending to find their random name-callings funny and thinking to ourselves "IRONY!!!"... until we tried it ourselves and joined in the fun HAHA. It was quite funny when we started doing the same and pointed at random guys among them and shouted "gay!!" hahah. Okay fine very lame but nvm i shall not make fun of them further. Haha actually the thai students were very friendly and hospitable towards us, and you could tell that some of them are really crazy and fun-loving people. Even this year 1 or 2 student who sat beside me during the games was so enthusiastic to talk to us.

Oh ya the third day was also when weixin got into a whole lot of shit.. okay but i shall skip the details to save him from further embarrassment. But what was quite memorable was how hysteria just broke out in the back of the bus when we realised that there's shit on the bus!! The paranoia and madness was so exciting and hilarious lolll. Kevin and I were frantically checking ourselves for any traces of poo while everyone just started screaming and shouting stuff like "SHIT!!! There's shit on the bus!!!" and "EWWW YUCKS" and "@#*(&*  IT STINKS!!!!" hahaha. Anyway, the dog crap had been spreading like some infectious parasite around the back of the bus, since everytime it rubbed against something, some of it stuck on the object. Fortunately we contained it in time before it could spread to more people :o! Okay so after everyone calmed down we started playing detective and tracing the source of the shit lolol. Apparently someone had accidentally stepped on some dog poo before boarding the bus. Haha quite ridiculous actually.. like snakes on a plane, starring samuel jackson. Shit On A Bus - Starring Weixin hah.

Hmm fourth day was just crazy shopping. Shop shop shop shop shopped for the whole day from 11 to around 9 I think. Oh we had Mac's for lunch and dinner i think. The pork burger is really awesome, and if you order it ala carte its only 20 baht per burger :o. That's like 1 buck each.. highly spammable.

The fifth day was spent at dreamworld. Okay the rides there are all pretty fun, but quite limited I think. We finished most of the rides pretty fast. There was one called "Magic Carpet". Hmm but actually i'll prefer to call it "The Stomach Churner" or something. It's basically this ride where you sit upright in the seat all the time, just that the machine keeps turning in a clockwise direction, then later an anticlockwise direction. Yea and all this while your stomach is just getting turned inside-out and feeling like crap hahah. I can't believe I actually took this ride twice and put myself through the same torture after the first try. Hmm there was also this "Snow Town" inside the theme park too. It's quite similar to the one in science centre (i think we had ispark eota there lololl), with a snow slide being the main attraction. Okay i think i was quite crazy i actually wore 6 pieces of garments inside! Six!! (haha i have a picture of this but it looks sick and gross like I'm some perverted flasher so I won't post it here) But it was still so cold inside we had to leave after playing on the slide twice.

Okay enough talk here's some pictures:

Pictures )

Hahaha okay so that shall be all for this first blog post... I doubt i'll actually blog again soon considering how troublesome it is to upload pictures and to type in front of the computer. Anyway there are actually so many more interesting things about thailand that I've yet to mention.. like all the silly jokes that I'd rather not talk about here to preserve the dignity of this blog hah. Hmm yea this has definitely been a really enjoyable trip! :)
