i am the master of my fate i am the captain of my soul [January 07, 2010 @ 12:33pm] gopartygo [ music | rachmaninoff ] On New Year's eve I went out with my father for breakfast, and we decided, on a whim, to scout for potential driving instructors at BBDC. But we couldn't find anyone (corrupted enough to agree to give as few lessons as possible) so in the end my father decided I was a competent enough driver, we swapped places in the car, and I ended up driving around Bukit Batok for almost 4 hours lol! In the evening my family went to Labrador Park and camped there to see fireworks and have a picnic. In the end we only saw flares but all of us went crazy by pressing all the cars' horns and pulling the annoying little firecracker thingys. After that we went on to have prata and mee goreng and bandung at the Cheese Prata Shop. Got home at 4plus am but it was all good fun :) The next day... I can't really remember? But a quick check on facebook reveals that that was the day of the bloody beetroots (who? who?). Meaning that before that I went to my grandma's place for decadent lunch. Then the bsb gathered at paul's place for some FIFA/guitar hero/call of duty in the afternoon. We left at night because 2lt ong had to go off and buy porno pens, and some of them wanted to club!?!? but because of me (ok, my hand, really) we adjourned to some cha chan teng (minus benpoh who was the next days guard LOL take that, and marcus who was shag) and talked about life from 2330 to 0330.  Over the weekend I watched avatar and invictus back to back with kwan guan marcus and 2lt (SOM) chew chin seng at freaking 3am which was shaggggg and i just stoned on my bed on sunday I think? The past few days I've been living like a student - going to random places ie museums, learning to cook (fried rice and wongbok soup!), reading (academic!) books and notes. The weather is brilliant, my sleep cycle is restored, pints are a twice-weekly affair, am striking to-do items off my list... What is there not to like about life? ( the joy of to-do lists ) Also, thank god my brothers start school on Jan 11, it is quite fun to see them doing retarded stunts on bicycles and watch television together. Comment

I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning [December 31, 2009 @ 7:12am] gopartygo [ music | Bright Eyes ] Been up since 5am eating leftover tiramisu watching football and thinking of this and that... it feels weird not to have anything to occupy myself with!? Well after yesterday I expected today to be an emancipation of sorts but obviously I'm wondering about the next 1 plus weeks and how empty they are going to be, without LNAT to study for, without having to send the brothers to training at east coast, without the almost daily physio sessions since my arm is feels so much better now, with the BSBs all being deployed here and there... I'm so immersed into this lifestyle and surprising busyness of it all, now that everything/everyone suddenly stops requiring my attention all at once I'm damn WTF? So here's what I want to do: - tour Lorong Kilat for Korean chicken/Udders/FANCY DELIGHTSSSSS - eat hokkien mee and drink sugarcane at BTM - try T15 and perhaps scorpion trail out on my new bike :) - commence one times driving lesson lol - watch avatar and sherlock holmes - sign up for zoo run and see ah meng LOL - read the new stieg larsson - listen to a couple of albums bought ages ago but are still in the plastic slipcases - err try cooking or something? - CAT POWER ♥♥♥♥♥ Then I go back to camp to my unit which is seriously the freaking armpit of the SAF, god I really hate that place. Yea and just nuaaaa all the way because my arm still quite cham. Comment
